Moodle Site Acceptable Use Statement
The School District of New Berlin promotes the use of technology as a tool to support teaching and learning. Use of District technology is intended for educational purposes only. Board Policy 6155, Appropriate Use Policy, allows students to use District technology resources, including Internet access and e-mail use.
The District reserves the right to monitor use of technology, including computers and the Internet. Inappropriate use of technology may result in a loss of privileges, which could seriously affect a student’s ability to complete the requirements in related subjects. Other consequences could include suspension, expulsion, or legal action. Users may be held financially responsible for damage intentionally done to computers or the network.
Users are expected to abide by the following:
1. Represent your school and yourself in a positive manner.
2. Be polite and use appropriate language.
3. Do not use or access offensive, profane, obscene, abusive, harassing, derogatory, threatening, sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise inappropriate language, information symbols or images.
4. Promptly disclose to instructional staff any message you receive that is inappropriate or makes you feel uncomfortable.
5. Keep personal information private. Do not reveal personal contact information of yourself or others.
6. Identify yourself accurately in all communication. Use your username only.
7. Do not reveal your password or use another’s password.
8. Respect restrictions on computing resources.
9. Vandalism, including intentional introduction of viruses, will not be tolerated. Do not interfere with another user’s equipment or program.
10. Files may be downloaded only with the permission of instructional staff.
11. Recreational, entertainment, or purely personal uses, unless otherwise approved, are not allowed.
12. Do not engage in any illegal activities.
13. Respect copyright law and other intellectual property rights, including plagiarism.
14. Report violations of this policy to school officials.
15. Ask permission or clarification from instructional staff on any aspect of this policy that is unclear.
